The Veeam Backup Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s backup and recovery
infrastructure using Veeam software solutions.
This role involves designing, implementing, monitoring, and troubleshooting backup and recovery processes to ensure data
integrity, availability, and compliance with company policies and industry best practices.
REQUISITE WORK EXPERIENCE
5+ Years of Veeam Backup Administrator Configure and maintain the Veeam Backup & Replication infrastructure, including
backup servers, proxies, repositories, and backup agents.
Perform regular updates, patches, and upgrades to keep the backup environment up-to-date and secure.
Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration with existing systems and services.
Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies for various systems, applications, and data types according to
established RPO (Recovery Point Objective) and RTO (Recovery Time Objective) requirements.
Monitor backup jobs to ensure successful completion and troubleshoot any failures promptly. Conduct regular backup tests
and data recovery drills to validate the effectiveness of the backup solution.
Ensure data protection compliance by implementing appropriate encryption, access controls, and security measures for
backed-up data.
Implement and oversee backup retention policies to align with data retention regulations and business needs. Maintain
thorough documentation of backup processes, configurations, and recovery procedures.
Generate and present regular reports on backup and recovery performance, highlighting key metrics and trends to
management. Respond to backup and recovery incidents in a timely manner, diagnosing and resolving issues to minimize
data loss and downtime.
Collaborate with other IT teams to troubleshoot backup-related issues, including networking, storage, and application
concerns.
Monitor backup infrastructure capacity and performance, anticipating future requirements and planning for scalability as
needed.
Propose and implement improvements to optimize backup processes and resource utilization.
Stay up to date with the latest Veeam features, updates, and industry trends related to backup and recovery.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance efficiency and reliability.
